Put all of your Local Promotion Information in one Document

Before we begin creating accounts and posting information all over the internet, we need to create a one place for everything document.

Throughout this process you will be creating a lot of accounts online. These will all have login information including usernames and passwords. That is a lot of information to keep track of if you do not have a system. Plus, you will probably never login to anything to post events or update if you cannot find the login info.

The simple solution is to keep track of this as you go. Whenever you create an account with login information or any notes you want to remember, you ALWAYS put that information in your Local Church Promotion Resource document. That way it will easily be at your fingertips when you need it in the future.

It also makes it easy to put into the hands of a volunteer if everything is there. You do not have to pilfer through all of your old emails and keep clicking Forgot Password links to get a new volunteer involved.

I realize you can tell your computer to remember all of your usernames and passwords. But this obviously does not transfer to another person. So, it is easier to keep track of all of it in one place.

Keep it Simple and Online

This document is going to have a lot of information in it when you are done. It will be several pages so you want to use something that can handle that much information easily. A small note taking app on your phone will probably not get the job done well.

I like to keep it simple, but also have easy access to it.

I use a simple Microsoft Word Document, Evernote note, of a Document in Google Drive and keep everything organized there. You can keep offline documents synced in Dropbox or Google Drive if you don’t want to use a completely online solution.

You can come up with whatever system you like, but this has worked well for me. I may keep a backup copy somewhere on a specific computer, but for the most part it never leaves Dropbox or Google Drive as I am nearly always online. Those two options also sync across all desktop and mobile platforms for easy access.

I have included a download of a blank version of the Microsoft Word Document I have used to start the process. Download it and begin filling in the information. Keep everything in one place as you work through the process. Do not scatter the information. Keep it simple. If the Microsoft Doc works for you great, but you can always transfer and create in Evernote or Google Drive it becomes easier.

In addition to the Word Document, I have also added a couple of other links and videos as options for managing this information.
