Your Church on the Front Page of Google?

I believe one of the best church growth strategies for both new and more established churches is to have your church on the front page of Google for your town’s church search terms.

Now, understand who you are getting when you pull in new attenders from these search terms. I am sure that some unsaved people search for church, but not as many as we would probably like.

However, church member turnover is a reality and God will of course lead other Christians to your church. Most likely the first place they will search is your town’s church search terms. Unless of course they are driving down your street and God magically leads them into your parking lot. Which, don’t get me wrong, I believe can happen. Not magically, but spiritually of course.

Currently I am a staff member at an Owasso Church in Oklahoma so my church terms would be owasso church and owasso churches. Those are the most broad, and the most difficult to achieve front page placement for in a town saturated with churches and church websites.

I made some changes a couple of weeks ago to the site. I had always hung out on or around page 2 for some reason and could never break through to the top. After the changes however, I finally got on the front page for both.

Here are some screenshots below. I did of course clear all of my cookies from my browser and signed out of my Google/Gmail account so that the results would not be skewed by my past searches.

Just wanted to give you hope that it is possible for your church to get there if that is one of your church growth strategies.
